Fictionalized account of the life of Laura Gibbon, whose father, Leonard Gibbon, was shot in front of her while walking on a street in Smithland, Kentucky in 1844. Gibbon was the editor of the Smithland Bee. This book follows Laura as she moves to Iowa and marries.
